For the first time...

What do you write your first blog post on anyway?!

Hello!

Let me start by introducing myself...

Sorry, that was cheesy! Moving swiftly on!

I have been wanting to start this blog for what seems like forever! When I first started reading blogs a while back it made me wonder if I could write one myself. I've brushed it off, telling myself that nobody wants to read what I have to say. 

So what's changed, I hear you ask? Well, one of my new year's resolutions for 2014 was to finally set up the blog I've always wanted, so here I am, presenting the world with The Danii Diaries. I'm terrified so please be nice!

Now I've finally set up a basic layout and almost worked out how to use Blogger (I think?! Definitely didn't spend a good few hours with my head in my hands, trying to convince myself this really was a good idea...), I've actually had to put pen to paper...well, fingers to keyboard at least, and now I'm just rambling. Apologies!

So, back to the introduction. I'm Danii, I'm 20 and a student of English Literature at Cardiff University. I've just finished my first year of the course so I'm currently back home living with my parents, just outside of London. I'm an animal lover and have two family dogs, a Westie (Tara) and a Chihuahua (Dolcé).

And then there's my new addition, my little man, Alfie the bunny rabbit! He's six months old now and a bundle of adorableness (yes, I know that's not a word!).

The other man in my life is a Welshman. His name is Huw and he's a ski, snowboard and rock climbing instructor, bit of an action man I guess! And together we look a bit like this...

Right, enough of the gushy personal stuff. Do I feel like your old friend yet?!

I take a lot of my fashion and beauty inspiration from my favourite blogs and instagram feeds, which I hope to share with you guys in my future posts! I don't think I've really found my signature style yet, so here's to this blog being a document of my fashion and beauty adventure.

I'm a high street girl, often being lured in to Topshop and Zara to empty my wallet on clothes I probably really don't need. As far as makeup goes, Benefit, MAC, NARS and Urban Decay are my favourites but I love to mix it up with drug store products, trying out all the new releases without breaking the bank (and my student budget...eek!). 

I should also confess now to being a nail polish addict. I have over 100 different polishes, have never shied away from the odd 'nails of the day' post on instagram and I am hopelessly devoted to Essie and Barry M. There it is, I've said it. My boyfriend says some of them are identical but they're just not. OKAY?! Rant over.

My music taste isn't exactly what you might expect. I may look like a mainstream girlie-girl that worships the likes of One Direction and Five Seconds of Summer, but one of my all time favourite bands is actually Biffy Clyro. Thanks to my best friend I have pretty much every song they've ever made on my iPod (so proud!).

Well that's it, if I say anymore, I may scare the readers I don't even have yet away! Oops!
